There are instances where merchants ship items with unique dimensions, and without putting those dimensions within their OMS (like Shopify), the result is that Returnly does not generate shipping labels reflective of the item’s real dimensions. This can translate into inaccurate costs for both merchants and shoppers. By using internal and external product data, the Parcel Dimensions Predictor would increase cost efficiency and productivity, by reducing adjustments required to match items’ dimensional weight and shipping labels costs. Connect with your Returnly contact, or our merchant care team at support@returnly.com if you want this feature enabled.
Behavior
When a shopper or one of your Customer Support Representatives (CSRs) creates a return through Returnly, the Parcel Dimensions Predictor will query the broker (eg: EasyPost, Shippo) to quote a rate for the return shipping label(s).
- The dimensions used for each label is the combination of all products calculated by our predictor
- It leverages the cheapest rate for each carrier
- This feature only works with USPS labels
Important: If the merchant has configured the dimensions via tagging, Returnly will respect the dimensions provided instead of trying to create them ourselves for the return line item.
