Green Return Product Tag
Once you have Green Returns enabled for your account, there two different implementation paths in defining which products could be considered for your policy:
Global: All RMAs can qualify for Green Returns and be exempt from shipping.
Green Return Product Tag: Only products with the product-level rtly-green-return tag will qualify to be exempt from shipping. This tag would only function if you have Green Returns enabled for your account. For more information on setting up these tags in Shopify, please refer to this article: Returnly Tags
Shopper Eligibility
Green Returns are not guaranteed for all shoppers nor returns. Several factors are taken into consideration when determining if a return would be deemed eligible to not require shipping. The chart below breaks down the conditions our system utilizes for this decision-making process.
Qualification | If Yes | If No |
1. Is Green Returns enabled for your account? | Next Step | Return Shipping Required |
2. Is the return amount greater than your maximum amount allowed? | Return Shipping Required | Next Step |
3. Is the shopper's credit application denied? | Return Shipping Required | Next Step |
4. Is the shopper's address unable to be verified? | Return Shipping Required | Next Step |
5. Has the address been used for a return with another shopper at your store? | Return Shipping Required | Next Step |
6. Is the shopper returning to your store for the first time? | Qualified for Green Returns | Next Step |
7. Does the shopper meet your required return score? | Qualified for Green Returns | Return Shipping Required |
Return Score
The Return Score is used to help determine if a shopper would be eligible for green returns. This score measures the ratio of total gross sales over the total returns value. If a shopper's return score is under your minimum return score threshold, the shopper would become ineligible for green returns and be required to ship their return.
Return Score Calculation
[Shopper's Total Gross Sales] / [Shopper's Total Returns Value] = [Return Score]
