Overview
Sibling Products allow merchants to group like-products without setting up a collection to be displayed directly on a Product Details Page.
Thus, your customers, at the time of an exchange, will see similar items to the item being returned.
Who Sibling Products is for
For those Premium Shopify merchants who have Shop Collections enabled.
Due to the 100-variant limit with Shopify, color variants are considered as separate products. Now, with Sibling Products, you can now group like-products via tagging so the Product Details Page of an exchange displays similar items.
As an example, if your customer is exchanging a dress or crocs, they will be able to see the same style of dress across colors.
Shop Collections Tags
The following are the tags that could be applied to your collections.
Tag: Group-like Products
- Tag: rtly-exchange-group:{UPC}
- Example: rtly-exchange-group:mens-wool-runner;rtly-exchange-group:12345
- Description: The tag can contain any alphanumeric characters/UPC digits to group products or item description.
Recommendations
- Tag similar products broken down by color, either with a single color variant or the color in the product name.
- Each product should only have one rtly-exchange-group tag for the feature to work as expected.
Tag: Exchange Block
- Tag: rtly-exchange:block
- Example: rtly-exchange:block
- Description: Allow merchants to block/limit exchanges on certain items and orders.
Tag: Exchange Only
- Tag: rtly-exchange:only
- Example: rtly-exchange:only
- Description: Allow merchants to have a more granular Return Policy by setting products or orders to be only eligible for exchanges.
How to view tags already applied to your products
In Shopify, under Products, select Collections.
On your Products page, Manage tags:
