For merchants leveraging either traditional exchanges or exchanges powered by Returnly Credit, these order are driven by the variants that have been setup in the product records of your Shopify store. Each product variant can incorporate several options such such as size or color.
Any combination of the available options would be considered its own variant.
Once added in Shopify, these variants will automatically appear in Return and/or Exchange flows within Returnly.
Adding Variants in Shopify

From your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products.

Click the name of the product.

In the Variants section, click Add variant.

Enter the variant information in the fields. If you enter a new option value in the Options section, then it will be created as an option value for that product. These values would be what is shown to your customers when going through the Returnly exchange flow.

Click Save.
Editing Variants in Shopify

From your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products.

Click the name of the product that you want to edit.

In the Variants section, click Edit options. Make any edits that you need:
- To add a new option, click Add another option and enter the option name and a default option value. The default option value is applied to all the existing variants.
- To change an option name, click the associated field and enter the new name.
- To delete an option value, click the [ x ] beside it. Any variants with that option value is also deleted.
- To delete an option, remove all but one of the option values, then click the trash can icon beside the option.
Reordering Variants in Shopify

From your Shopify admin, go to Products > All products.

Click the name of the product whose options you want to re-order.

In the Variants section of the product details page, click Reorder variants.

In the Reorder variants and options dialog, click and drag an option name to move it to a different position. When a customer is in the exchange flow, the options are displayed in the order that you set.

After you have the options in the order that you want, you can change the display order of the option values. Click and drag an option value to move it to a different position.

Click Save.
