Support for Shopify Multi-Location Inventory Management
New | December 2018
This update is available for All Shopify Merchants
Support for Shopify’s Multi-location inventory management feature is now available. This enhancement will allow merchants to restock to a specific location in Shopify. To use the feature simply go to Your Account > Addresses > Warehouses in your Returnly dashboard and update the restock location of your liking. All returns restocked to this warehouse going forward will be restocked at this location in Shopify.
New "Return" Button
Improvement | December 2018
This update is available for: All Merchants.
An alternate “Complete Return” button can now be used during your returns flow. The new “Complete Return” button is a full-width, sticky button fixed on the bottom edge of the screen. The button changes color when at least one item has been selected indicating that the shopper is ready to continue with the return process.
This new button gives customers a clearer direction of next steps, helping move customers through the return flow as quickly and seamless as possible.
Barcode (UPC) information in "Returns data export"
This update is available for: All Shopify Merchants.
Returnly now includes BARCODE information (UPC code, ISBN or other unique identifier) in the Returns CSV data export. Returnly will pull in the value stored in the “UPC code, ISBN or other unique identifier” section of the product variant page within Shopify.
Enabling this data in the export, allows for better and more robust usage of the report, while connecting the returns to corresponding products.
Returnly API "is_exchange" flag enhanced to reflect exchanges made with Returnly Credit
Improvement | November 2018
This update impacts: Merchants who offer Exchanges made with Returnly Credit and the Returnly API.
We have made an improvement to the “is_exchange” attribute in the Returns API. Previously, the “is_exchange” attribute only returned “true” when a shopper utilized the Exchange Check Box to indicate that they wanted to make an exchange.
Now the “is_exchange” attribute will return “true” when a shopper:
- Makes an Exchange powered by Returnly Credit during the return flow
- Utilizes the Exchange Check Box to indicate that they wanted to make an exchange
Complete Exchange When Product Has No Variants Fix
Fix | November 2018
With International Returns, you can localize the Return Center based on a shopper's default language settings. This helps maintain a positive brand experience with your international shoppers. International Returns is available as an add-on to the Returnly Premium plan.
We've Started a Returnly Changelog!
New | November 2018
This update impacts: all merchants
In a recent survey of Returnly merchants, we learned that, while we are constantly working to improve Returnly for both merchants and shoppers, not all of our new features, improvements, and bug fixes are readily noticeable.
In an effort to improve our communication and transparency, we are pleased to be introducing a Returnly Changelog.
Written and curated by Returnly’s product team, this space will consistently highlight changes (both big and small).
Note: We will plan to backfill some more recent changes.
Inventory Auto-Restocking Fix
Fix | November 2018
This update impacts: all merchants
This fix resolves an issue to ensure automated refunds properly restock inventory when “auto-restock” function is enabled.
Create UPS Return Labels for Shoppers with PO Boxes
Fix | November 2018
This update impacts: merchants using UPS as a shipping carrier
A fix has been added to handle UPS return label generation for shoppers with a PO Box.
For UPS-enabled merchants, shoppers with PO Boxes are now prompted to update their address to an alternate mailing address. Once a valid address is entered, Returnly will generate a UPS Label.
Link Directly to Gift Return Flow
New | November 2018
Skip email validation by using a special link
This update impacts: Returnly Credit merchants with gift returns enabled
Similar to direct linking the standard, shopper return flow, we now support direct linking to the gift return flow.
Use of this feature will allow people who are looking to start a gift return to do so without email verification.
Merchants who want to use this feature will need to:
- Generate a special link with the required parameters
- Present that link to a given shopper
Manually Retry Failed Shipping Label Creation
Improvement | November 2018
This update impacts: all merchants
Occasionally, a shipping label will fail to generate even when the return is confirmed.
In the case that occurs, we’ve added a new “Retry” link for your team to retry generating the label. This link is available on the associated RMA in the upper left-hand corner below the “Shipping Label Failure” alert.
If the label fails for the second time, it will automatically display a default message to please contact Returnly Customer Support.
"Shop with Returnly Credit" Open in New Tab
Improvement | October 2018
This update impacts: merchants with Returnly Credit
The Return Status Page is the landing page that your shopper is presented after completing a return. This page includes a link to download their return shipping label PDF as well as Returnly Credit to shop again right away.
Previously, when a shopper clicked the “Shop Now” call-to-action, your store’s website opened within the shopper’s current browser window. From merchant and shopper feedback, we learned that this either added additional steps for the shopper to find their Returnly Credit or resulted in back-button fatigue.
To create a more seamless shopping experience with fewer interruptions, we have made a simple change so this button always opens your store in a new tab.
