Restrict Access to Reconciling Reporting Downloads

To maintain the integrity of data transmitted in RMA and reconciliation reports, the recipient of these reports is now automatically set as the email address associated with that dashboard login being utilized at that time.
To streamline the generation of reports, unique dashboard logins should be configured for each individual user by email address. To configure and manage logins, follow the steps outlined here: User Roles & Permissions.
Resending Gift Cards to Shoppers

Merchants can now easily resend gift cards that are issued as a refund to shoppers when the shopper can't find the original gift card. To resend a gift card, go to any RMA that has been refunded to a gift card and select the Email Gift Card Button.

Returnly made a change that extends the time for which refunds can be made to the original payment method for returns of repurchases and exchanges, where the original payment method is PayPal. This change extends the timeframe from 60 days to 175 reducing the number of shoppers that are issued a gift card instead.
Net Sales Summary Report

The Net Sales Summary report helps you easily calculate net sales with Returnly. Simply export the date range you are analyzing and sum the Total Sales column with the Total Sales data from your Shopify Report.

Avalara Tax Codes in Returnly Exchange Orders

This update is available for: Shopify merchants that utilize Returnly Exchanges and Avalara Tax.
Returnly will now include the Avalara tax code in every order placed using Returnly Exchanges. By doing so, Returnly ensures that Shopify calculates accurate tax amounts when an exchange order is placed. If the tax code is included on the product variant within Shopify, Returnly will automatically include that tax code in the orders created when an exchange is made.
If a shopper places an exchange of an item that previously did not have a tax code associated with it, Returnly will respect the order amounts in the original order, however, Shopify will calculate the accurate tax in the new exchange order.
Nested Reasons

Nested reasons are now available, you can have now an additional level of return reasons by adding sub-reasons. This way we allow to improve detail on return reasons and so analysis of returns. At the same time, they decrease the initial user choice and UI complexity as it's provided in a more scalable way.
In the shopper flow, once the shopper picks a reason if that one has sub-reasons those are shown with the message "Please Specify Further".
"Is Gift Return" Column Added in RMA Report

In order to easily identify and track gift returns, we have included a new column in the RMA Report. When you request an RMA Report you will get an extra column in the CSV received called “Is Gift Return” indicating if the RMA is a gift return.
Added Refund Destination Details to RMA Details Page

In an effort to provide our merchants with more information about their refunds, we have added the specific refund destination details to the RMA detail page. You will now be able to easily tell if a shopper has been refunded to their original payment method or to a gift card. If the shopper was refunded to a gift card, we will display the last 4 characters of that code.

We have improved the Returns Data Export (now known as the RMA Report) so that you can now generate data from a wide range of dates without running into errors. The report generation can still be found in the Manage Returns tab.
Add Return or Exchange Prompt to Returns Flow

A new step on the return flow can now be added asking the shopper if they would like to proceed with a return or exchange when an exchange reason is selected. This additional step can help reduce accidental exchanges by prompting shoppers to make an explicit choice during the flow.

Added Delivery Date to Manage Returns Tab

We have added the date at which RMAs were marked as Delivered to the Manage Returns tab in the Returnly merchant dashboard. This will help merchants prioritize actioning for outstanding delivered RMAs. The Delivery Date is also included in the Return Detail view and the manage returns CSV export.

Start Return with Order Number + Shipping Zip Code

You can now add the option for customers to start a return by either Email or Order Number and Shipping Zip Code — bringing more choice, convenience and flexibility to your returns experience.
If the customer opts to start their return using Order Number and Shipping Zip code, they are brought directly to the product selection page, bypassing email verification to stay in one seamless flow.
Admins can add the secondary Start Return option from the Returnly Dashboard.
