Reason for Returns are the options provided to your shoppers in the return flow that they can choose for each item. They can be added, edited, and deleted at anytime to reflect your preferred reasons. A shopper will see a menu similar to the one shown below (these are the system defaults) when returning and item:
We will show you how to add, edit, and delete reasons for returns so that you can cater it to your shoppers the way you want it to.
Adding Reasons for Returns
1. From your Returnly Dashboard, select Return Settings on the left-hand navigation bar.
2. Next, access the Return Reasons tab, select the Add new reason field and input the new reason.
3. After inputting the new reason, you can select the Save button to add the reason.
It's worth mentioning that you should keep things as simple as possible for your shoppers. Having significantly more than 5-8 reasons for returns can clutter and hamper the return experience. It's best to keep things organized with Nested Return Reasons. If you are interested in adding nested sub-reasons to your Reason for Returns, check out this article: Setting Up Nested Return Reasons.
Note: Newly added return reasons are not automatically enabled within the default group. You can learn more about Return Reasons here.
Note: You can have the same reasons for return appear on exchanges as well. If your account is utilizing traditional exchanges or exchanges powered by Returnly Credit, the information on how to enable exchange triggers can be found here: Setting Up Exchange Trigger Reasons.
