When a shopper exchanges, there is the possibility that the newly selected product will later be returned. When this occurs, the shopper will be initiating a Return of Exchange (RoE) RMA.
The shopper flow for a RoE RMA will proceed as a return for refund, meaning they will not be presented with the option to exchange again (or repurchase, if Returnly Credit is also enabled).
For refund issuance:
- Funds allocated -- to the exchange -- from the original order will be issued back to the original order's payment method, except where more time has elapsed per our RoE refunding logic.
- For Shopify (non-Plus) merchants, a RoE outside of 60 calendar days may yield as "Pending Refund," necessitating external refund issuance.
- Any uplift on the exchange order, as paid by the shopper when initiating the original return, will always be refunded to the original payment method transacted to cover such balance.
