With Shop Collections, your shoppers have the ability to select whether they want to receive a refund, a like-product exchange (different variant, i.e. size or color), or an entirely new product.
It's important to note that exchanges are free shipping.
Once Stop Collections is enabled, your shoppers will go through the following journey:
- To exchange for an entirely new product, the shopper selects "I want something new instead" (or similar copy).
- They will then be presented with a list of Collections, configured within Shopify and enabled for exchange within Returnly, as outlined in our "Setting Up and Managing Collections" article.
- Once they have selected the desired curated Collection, in this case Dresses, the shopper will see all in-stock, purchasable product available within that Collection.
- Within the same product card, they will then be able to select the specific product to exchange for, and any applicable variant/s (i.e. color, size).
- After selecting all product to be returned/exchanged, potentially across multiple product cards, the "Complete Return" button should be clicked.
- On the summary screen, if there is a difference in the cost between the product being returned and the product being exchanged for, the shopper will be prompted to securely enter payment method details to cover this balance. If there is not a difference in cost, no payment method details will need to be entered.
- After entering their payment method details, and clicking the "Complete" button, the shopper will be directed to the return confirmation screen to download their generated label/s.
- Where any additional balance was paid by the shopper, they will receive an automated order confirmation email from Returnly. Separate emails will follow from Shopify as the order is processed and fulfilled.
- The transacted amount will appear on the shopper's credit card statement as: Returnly* {MERCHANT NAME}.
- Depending on the exchange flow configured for your account, Instant or Automated ("Upon Scan"), the order will be fulfilled accordingly.
