Hello there and welcome to the December Product Update page! We'll be going over new & upcoming features, updates, and improvements to Returnly below.
A quick heads-up/reminder: USPS and FedEx implemented peak season rates - plan accordingly and make sure that those changes are accounted for within your budget and accounting teams. You can read about these rate changes here (USPS) and here (FedEx).
Custom Flat Rate Shipping Pricing (General Availability)
Why the update?
Returnly now supports decimal rates for flat rate shipping. So, if you’ve been wanting to update your flat rate shipping to something that looks more appealing to your customers, now’s your chance. Turn your $10 return shipping rate into $9.99 or $5 into $4.95. You get the idea.
To make changes to your return shipping costs, simply head over to the Return Settings tab in your Returnly dashboard, scroll down to Return Shipping Costs and enter in your new flat rate.
Who does this affect, and when will this update go live?
This feature is now available to all of our customers.
Why the update?
Unused USPS shipping labels are now automatically refunded 28 calendar days after being generated - if your return policy allows your customers to return items beyond that, a new label must be created. Returnly now allows you to generate these new shipping labels within individual RMAs. No need to contact our support team for assistance!
Simply open the RMA, click the “new” button next to the shipping label information and a new USPS label will be automatically generated. Take a look at this

Upgraded Returns Center Experience for You and Your Shoppers (General Availability)
Why the update?
We've been communicating the improved Returns Center experience to our customers via emails and in-product notifications over the past months, and have enabled the experience for those who are ready to complete the self-migration experience. We're happy to report that EVERYONE is now eligible to make that transition! In case you missed the in-app pop-up that gives you detailed instructions on how to perform this self-migration, you can always access that walkthrough by clicking on the ? icon located at the bottom right of your Returns Center and clicking on Walkthroughs and Wizards. You'll then see New Returns Center - Migration Wizard.
This video also demonstrates this self-migration process:
Who does this affect?
The goal is to get all of existing customers onto this updated experience. If you started with Returnly within the past few months, you should already be on this experience by default. For those of you who are still on the legacy experience, you'll want to make the switch whenever it's convenient for you.
When is this feature available and who does this affect?
The self-migration in-product notification is currently available to all of our customers. We intend to get everyone over to this new experience comfortably by March 1st, 2022, which is when we plan on ending support for our legacy experience.

FedEx QR Code Returns (General Availability)
Why the update?
No printer, no problem! We’ve removed the need for your shoppers to print labels at home by adding QR code returns with FedEx! Now shoppers are able to complete returns entirely from their phone. They’ll just take their packaged return to a FedEx location, present the QR code to a store clerk for scanning, and hand-off the package-- it’s that simple! And, if they decide they want to print a label after all? We’ve got them covered. With this new feature, your customers can toggle between whichever return experience is most convenient. Check out our article for more information about this new return experience or contact your CS Manager if you’d like this enabled in your store.
* If you’ve got highly customized shipping labels or require packing slips to be included in your return shipments, this feature may not be for you. Contact your CS Manager for more information or for ways in which you can make small adjustments to your return policy to take advantage of this feature.
** This feature is only for FedEx merchants at this time. Development for other carriers is currently pending.
