Overview
The integration between ShipBob and Returnly is a one-way integration that creates a Return Authorization (RA) within ShipBob when a return is initiated through Returnly.
If you need technical support specific to the Returnly <> ShipBob integration, contact the ShipBob Support team at support@shipbob.com as they manage, host, and monitor the integration.
Prerequisites and How to Get Started
To set up and sync your returns on your ShipBob dashboard consult the following ShipBob integration article.
You would need your Returnly API token, which can be found on your Returnly's Return Manager, Integration Tools > API Token tab.
Note: As for the fulfillment center, a single warehouse (a ShipBob fulfillment center) must be selected for all returns (which must be configured on both ShipBob & Returnly dashboards).
How to Configure Returnly
Auto-restock setting:
-
- Navigate to the Returns Settings menu in your Returnly dashboard.
- Access the Return Policy tab, Additional Settings section.
- Disable the Auto-restockProducts option since the 3PL will be handling inventory updates.
Return to Address
Register the return address: visit Your Account > Addresses, Return to Address tab.
Note: If you do not have Returnly API access, please email partners@returnly.com for their API token.
How it Works
The Returnly <> ShipBob Returns workflow comprises three main portions:
1.- The customer creates a Return through Returnly Return Center
- The customer initiates their Return via Returnly.
- When Returnly RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) are authorized, they trigger the creation of an Advance Shipping Notice (ASN) within the ShipBob system for processing.
2.- The package gets to the warehouse
For item inspection and exception handling, reach out to ShipBob to discuss the process.
Note: Returns can only be sent to one ShipBob fulfillment center (which must be configured on both ShipBob & Returnly dashboards).
3.- Complete the return.
Once you have inspected the returned item and updated the inventory with ShipBob, there are two options to refund the RMA:
- Manually via Returnly
or
- By leveraging Returnly’s auto-settle feature. For further details on Auto Settlement, check this article.
